Songs & stories are a great way to encourage speech & communication in young children. Many babies know songs before they can speak. With regular repetition, actions, British sign language & bringing their favourite stories to life you can give your child the best start in early communication. Being able to express themselves reduces frustration & tantrums.

Our aim is to not only read you stories but to also give you a deeper understanding of the benefits of clear communication & how you can do it too. You’ll leave this class having had fun, feeling confident to continue practising at home.

COURSE OUTLINE

Story, Songs & Sensory class is taught over 6 weeks, each 45 minute-long lesson has a different story, songs & activities. Click the boxes below for details on each lesson.

+ Introduction

After saying hello to your friends & singing our hello song you'll learn what the story & theme of the week are.

+ Story time

Either listen to the book being read or, be part of the story as your class leader brings the session to life.

+ Songs & Rhymes

Let's sing together songs that match the theme of the week

+ Mirror Me

Each week there are 3 new signs to learn which you & your little one will have a chance to practise in class. By the end of your 6 week course you'll have learn 18 new signs!
